Handpull cask at the Platform Bar, Hexham. Drinking this, I would say it is not a blonde but rather a bitter. Chestnut brown, clear with a small beige head and plenty of lacing. Malt-led aroma, some overripe citrus, some lightly fruited caramel. Sweet taste with a lingering bitterness. Heavier in the mouth than one would expect, with soft to nil carbonation. It's fine.

Cask (Fitzgeralds, Newcastle) - Golden with a white head. Syrup, lemon and a hint of peach in the aroma. Peach, biscuity malt and hops feature in the taste.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Judges, Glasgow 29/06/09. Deep gold with a decent, off-white head. Summer fruit and grassy hop aroma. Flavour had sweetish malts, a hint of earthiness and a moderately bitter finish. Good.
