Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. Roasted malts are the mainstay of the aroma – plus some tarry hints. In the mouth it is s;ighty sweet with a soft and creamy texture. Plenty of roasted malts and quite a bit of caramel too. Later on there are hints of dark fruits and crusty bread as well. Sweetness lasts into the finish. This is quite reasonable – though difficult to categorise.

Handpull cask at the Old Horse, Leicester. Struggled to pinpoint the style but I'm calling it a porter. Dark brown but incredibly translucent. A khakibhead on top. Roasted malts on the aroma, burnt toast and wood fires. Taste is nicely balanced, an odd vegetal note but otherwise tasty. Good body for the ABV, soft carbonation. Overall good.
