There’s treasure on these islands. Our rich, golden, traditional India Pale Ale is one of the most precious. Brewed from pale ale, roasted malts and a unique blend of hops from faraway shores, its crisp, balanced, herbal-citric style is ideal with spicy foods and grilled meats. An IPA with true island character.

Bottle from a supermarket on Jersey. Pours a clear orange golden color, topped with a decent creamy off-white head. Malty aroma with lots of caramel notes and slightly biscuity. Some fruity notes a bit later. Sweet and biscuity taste, a bit resiny with decent hoppy bitterness and some herbs in aftertaste. Mildly fruity later on.

50cl bottle from Corkscrew Jersey, St Helier. Amber with a loose cream head; some tropical fruit aroma; creamy in the mouth with a caramel taste with some over-boiled jammy fruit and some grapefruit bitterness before a sweeter finish. Reasonable but over-pasteurised.

Bottle from Corkscrew, St Helier. It pours orange-amber with a small white head. The nose is toasty, sweet tangerine, stewed orange, marmalade and light metallic. The taste is crisp, bitter, lemon, orange peel, toasty grain, sticky, peppery and some metallic notes with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Metallic carb twang detracts from the flavour a bit. Alright, but a touch below the cask version.

Flaske delt på dag 2, RBHD-samlingen hos Asle Bjørn: kort, storboblet skum. Litt citrusaroma.
