Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Dark brown, a little translucent with a thin khaki head and lots of lacing. Aroma: I can't get past the bourbon. It's intense and sour and strong and beautiful. Taste is similar. There's some gotlrgeous dark malt and treacle notes but for the most part it's all bourbon. Wouldn't mind that aspect being dialled back a little - if I want bourbon I'll drink bourbon - but there's no denying this is very well made. Thick body with medium carbonation. And at an insane price point (which doesn't affect the rating but worth mentioning): £3.30 for a third. 13%. That's 2012 prices.
