To mark International Women’s Day 2023 we invited women and non-binary people from our local community to come and brew with the women and non-binary people of Brew York.

Working with Women On Tap CIC and as part of global collaboration brew project UNITE AT 10, we’ve used Citra, Simcoe and Strata hops to produce a zesty and citrusy DIPA. Together we’re BREAKING THE MOULD in the beer industry.

16th August 2023 Can. Almost clear gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate starts smooth but quickly develops a minerally crisp bite. Light clean malts, nice light sweetness. Crisp piney hops with a light and pleasing crisp skunk. Light crisp citrus, bright. Minerally crisp finish brings a small nip of hop spice and a whisper of sherbetty fruits. Nice one. Could be called a West Coast DIPA but for me, eschews that tired and predictable caramel and marmalade trope. Bright, crisp, remarkably clean and very drinkable.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden body with a few tiny flecks floating beneath a thin off-white head. No visible carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of orange, pineapple and marshmallow. Flavour of mandarin and pine. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A solid DIPA, juicy and bitter.
