A light haze on this gold amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness, a nice light touch of caramel toffee sweetness. Loads of Cognac, very good because its fruity and rich and has a nice sherry vibe. Ripe fruits and crystallised fruits abound. A little oak barrel infused vanilla. Lovely. An innocuous looking barleywine in a little bottle but so much better than other barleywines served in fancier bottles. Spot on Cognac barrelling over a tidy base barleywine. If you don't like this then I would be curious to hear what you expect from a beer like this?
