This is the latest addition to the Achouffe Brewery... The aroma of Cherry CHOUFFE gives pride of place to cherries. It also reveals notes of strawberry, almond, spices and sweet Port. Round-bodied, soft and delicate, Cherry CHOUFFE delights the gourmands among us. It has a satisfying finish, with a very slight bitterness.

Bottle, 8.0%. Weak cherry aroma. Deep red colour with a touch of brown. Big stable creamy pinkish head. The flavour is ok citric with a little sweetness and some cherry and a hint of metal. Fortunately not too sweet.

Very nice, slightly hazy deep red coloured body with a crimson glow and even some pink noticeable, all with a lighter pink two to three centimetre tall head that fades fairly slowly. Aroma of very noticeable fresh cherries, very tart, with a subtle breadiness, a lot of nice malts and a good, syrupy sweetness in the nose, without any real alcohol at all. Medium to almost Full-bodied; Syrupy, sticky tart and fresh cherries and juice dominate here in a great way with a large malt backbone, but nothing overt or pungent, just strong to couple with the deep cherries and a light dryness of flowers at the very end. Aftertaste shows the yeast, a dash of dry grain and of course, a ton of fresh, tart cherries that make this very nice with almost no alcohol flavours noticeable nor any warmth - this is hidden VERY well. Overall, a very nicely executed cherry flavoured sour or tart ale that hits almost like a tripel in terms of body and texture, but the sweetness makes this very nice, almost cloying, but not at that level and the tartness helps draw away from that, along with the yeast complexities. Great to sample, super fresh and the first time I've ever seen this! I sampled this stubby 33 cL bottle, purchased a few hours ago at Wegman's in Vienna (Tyson's Corner), Virginia on 21-July-2021 for US$12,99 for a four pack, sampled after my hockey game in Arlington, Virginia on 22-July-2021 with my teammates!

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - amber and lightly hazy. Tan crema head. Nose - cherry lozenge. Brown bread. Taste - sweet cherry and lozenge again. Palate - medium bodied and fairly sweet. Overall - it is a touch on the sweet side but I didn't find that as annoying as many reviewers.

Honestly the stupid Ontario LCBO bubble is annoying. I can't get regular Chouffe, let alone realize there is a cherry. Red pour with a thick layer of tan and pink head. Sweet cherry nose, and heavy cherry taste to match. Sweet indeed, overriding the subtle hind of some malt. Just wow. Just too much cherry.

Bottle from Beyondbeer webshop Hamburg (I think?) consumed at home Sunday 27th February 2022 listening to Cocteau Twins - Stars and Topsoil (a collection 1982-1990), about to cook Prawn Ravioli. Pours ruby red with a sparkling glint, there is a slight pink hue to the head. Fruity with cherry very much there but it's all a little too sweet and too close to a alcopop type effort.

Appearance- very dark red, with a 2-3 finger foamy pink head. Aroma- cherry, Bakewell tart, malty bread, dark fruit, fruitcake, hints of almondy nutty malt. Taste is sweet cherry pie, Bakewell tart, marzipan, blended dark fruits, rich fruitcake, sweet sugary malt. Sticky lengthy finish. Very sweet, quite good even so.
