Can pour into nonic pint glass from the brewery. Appearance is opaque, juicy yellow-orange (like orange juice) with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width foamy white head with poor retention and light leggy lacing. Aroma is fruit and grains/oats with a touch of pine. Taste is mix of sweet and tart fruit over grainy malt backbone. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation with mild numbing of the lips and mild spiciness, and finish as taste with hint of piney bitterness for balance. Overall, oats gives some nice body and aroma (lactose, too?). Simcoe is not so dynamic so not the most complexity but nice enough. Could use a smidge more carbonation.
