Brilliantly clear, bright gold and subtly flavored, Sunbru is one of Four Peaks’ most drinkable beers. But “drinkable” doesn’t mean “simple;” Sunbru took home gold at the World Beer Cup in 2012. When brewers from Cologne—the city in which the style was invented—are asking you for your recipe, you know you’ve got a beer worthy of being called Kölsch.

Draft. Golden-amber beer with an off-white head. Light grain aroma. Light grain and lemon flavor with light mineral notes. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Light grain and lemon lingers with light mineral notes.

Aroma: The nose is light, with some lemon, sweet malts, and cereal/grains
Appearance: This one pours a clear gold color with a white head
Flavor: The flavor is light and kind of sweet, malty and a little fruity, with a mild hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light, it has a clean feel, average carbonation, and an okay finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent Kolsch, but nothing special. Still, I could see the appeal if you were looking for something light that leans sweet. Not a bad intro type beer.

12oz can from my wonderful lady after her trip to Tucson. I think this is my first kolsch in can. Pours a dull yellow with a slight haze. Small head. Aroma is slightly fruity akin to many American kolsch with a faint hopiness. Flavor is clean wih light sweetness and an awesome sptritzy mineral character. I really like that part, makes the beer for me. Light beer, very quaffable

Can 12fl.oz.ABV: 5.1%. Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, fruity, wheat, herbs, grass, light to moderate yeasty. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to light moderate bitter with a average duration, fruity malt, herbs. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20120915]
