2023 was the sixth harvest in which we made single-farm beers to try to showcase some of the amazing farmers and sites we are fortunate enough to work with. 2023 French Creek is the first vineyard-specific of those bottlings. Thanks to Damon Lalonde who manages the vineyard.

This blend contains a coferment of Mourvedre, Grenache Blanc, and Syrah, blended with long-skin contact Chardonnay and then pressed. The resulting blend is heavily citrus-forward and with a ripe strawberry character reminiscent of some of our plum beers, but with the violet and floral characters you'd expect from the Rhone varietals.

We've learned quite a bit about red/white coferments in the last handful of years, and this beer builds on the experience of making and then drinking Flowers of the Field, 2021 Rhone, and The Object of Devotion. I think it surpasses all of those in its drinkability and its transportative nature.
