From Backlog. Taster, from Bottle, at Mikkeller Færgekroen, Tivoli, Copenhagen. Almost Black with little head. Roasted Malts, Chocolate, coconut, vanilla, bareel. Thin.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, roasted, meaty, coconut, raisin, rum, taste is similar, cocoa powder.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 33B: Barbados rum / 30A: cocoa, coconut & vanilla / 20C). Bottle 37.5 cl - Batch L040123 (BBF 040125). AROMA: medium-high notes of cocoa, slight coffee, vinous-hot, light coconut, chocolate. APPEARANCE: very dark brown to black body with no head. small white particles in suspension and at the surface. TASTE: initial medium-high sweet chocolate, vinous, cocoa with faint vanilla and coconut. medium-low bitterness with a semi-sweet finish that evolves to dry. MOUTHFEEL: silky texture with low carbonation. alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: an interesting spiced imperial stout but where the barrel character was not detected.
