Bottle at my birthday tasting. Black with no head. Roasted malts, chili, earthy, dark chocolate, vanilla, sugary. Solid sweet, medium bitter. Full bodied. Good!

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is smoky, agave, chocolate, wood, vanilla, taste is similar, dry, peaty, cocoa powder.

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 33B: mezcal / 30A: aji panca chilli, cocoa, vanilla / 20C). Bottle 37.5 cl - Batch L100223 (BBF 10.02.25). AROMA: medium-high mezcal aroma with its characteristic smoke. very faint dark chocolate note in the background. unbalanced. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and totally opaque. low brown head with no retention. leg formation. TASTE: low initial pepper flavour mixed with slightly sweet chocolate and coffee notes, quickly overthrown with medium-high smoky mezcal. medium to medium-high bitterness with a somewhat roasty and mezcal-smoky finish. MOUTHFEEL: full body and silky. medium-low carbonation. medium-low hot sensation from chilli and a smooth alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: a barrel aged with excessive barrel character.
