Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. KEGS. Cask. Almost opaque black - brown beer. Bubbly tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. Mild roast on the dark malt. Touch of bitter toffee. Nice fruity sloe brings it all together. Finishes dry and slightly bitter.

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 2012, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, berry. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, vanilla. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120118]

Cask at NWAF, 2012. Dark reddish-brown pour with a tan head. Caramel, toffee, light coffee-roast nose. Chocolate and licorice flavour. Warm, dry finish. Classic interpretation of a stout.
