Cask at Richard John Blackler, Liverpool. Pours a murky dark chestnut with medium sized off-white head. The nose is creamy with malts. In the mouth it is sweet with a creamy texture – on second thoughts more like gravy ! Flavour is a bit of sickly nothingness. There’s some autumn fruits and an underlying nuttiness, plus hints of alcoholic strength. This is pretty awful !

Dark brown. Aroma and flavour have caramelised sugars and malts. Sweet rich and moorish.

Cask @ The Palladium JDW, Llandudno [290115]
Caramel brown, dense white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft toasted malts, brown malts, slight bubble gum, some soft dark fruits
Taste of caramel, soft toffee, hint of chocolate, sweet malts, bit nutty, little hops, touch of bubble gum, quite fruity malts, soft yeast, some dunkelweizen notes, plenty of flavour in this but I’m not sure about the taste overall, somewhat muddled
Palate - Medium body, but a little thin, smooth texture, fairly sweet, alcohol quite well hidden. Finish of fairly sweet caramel, some soft dark fruity malts
Overall - Doesn’t quite get there taste wise, but could be really good with some tweaking
