16 oz. Pours a very dark brown to black with a one finger light beige head that falls somewhat quickly into a ring. Aroma is grainy, nutty, dark bread. Taste is light to moderately sweet and nutty with light notes of caramel, toast. Not bad.

Pour out if the goofy pop top can is a complete black with a small tan head. Aroma is a lager wet paper bag but in a good way with a nice roast and bitter bakers chocolate. Flavor is more of the lager, sulfur wet bag with a very minor roast and char malt. This lets you know this is a lager right up front with the yeast that fermented this beer. The roasted char malt albeit very minor saves this from being a boring beer.

On tap at the source. Appearance is dark brown with ruby highlights, 1.5 finger-width foamy beige head with good retention and nice sudsy lacing. Aroma is roasted malt with earth. Taste is as aroma. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a good representative of the style.
