Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is low key - dark fruit. Clear chestnut. Foamy translucent white head provides 50% coverage. A sour tang. Dark berries and caramel malts. But too much sourness for me. Medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. An ESB that doesn't deivet for me, just doesn't have the right balance.

Cask-conditioned at some pub in Sheffield, 2/12/2014. Mahogany in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Sugary sweetness, followed by plum fruit with a slightly vinous edge, which faded away to a gentle finish. Unusual and drinkable.
