The sweetness balances the very mild smoke. Drinkable, not perfect, body is a bit lacking. Stadin Helsinki

Draught @ SOPP Helsinki 2012, Finland.Dark brown colour with a average, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, light to moderate chocolate, smoke notes. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dark chocolate, sweet malt, alcohol, smoke notes. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20120726]

Draught (5,9%) @ Gastropub Nordic
Aroma is rather nice with roasted malt, rye, coffee and some chocolate. Flavour has somewhat salty licorice, rye, some coffee and chocolate. Also a slight metallic savor, hints of ash and peat. A bit too salty but still very good, reminds me of Nøgne Ø Imperial Stout. Could not locate the smoke ( = savu) here.

Draught at SOPP, Helsinki. Very black, small brown head. Aroma of malaxlimpa (heavy sweet rye bread) and licorice. Mid sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Sweet licorice and crude oil covered in soothing custard. Mid bitter finish. Another nice effort from Stadin!

Pours dark brown with a small head. Aroma of rye, some roasted malts and earthy notes. Taste is roasty with some rye notes and hints of smoked leather. Finish is smooth and slightly roasty with some rye notes. Okay, quite easy going.

(Draught at SOPP’12) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had smoke, roasted malts and rye bread. Palate was quite full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, smoke, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. Quite good stout.

Draught@SOPP Lahti 2012. Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some mild hops and mild tar and ryebread. Flavour is roasted malts, fruits, some wooden notes as well as liquorice.
