A warming dark winter beer that has a hint of blackcurrant in the aroma. Beautifully balanced and smooth, this is a beer for the connoisseur.

[Cask at the Compasses Inn, Gomshall] Deep reddish-brown with a small, loose, off-white head. Full-bodied winter ale tasting of chocolate, caramel and blackcurrant with a mild bitterness in the long , dry dusty finish.

Cask handpull at Simple Simon’s, Canterbury. Very deep ruby with lasting beige head. Looks in cracking condition, and it is. Charcoal roast and lots of choc on the aroma. Great condition in mouth. Lovely mouthfeel. Good dark fruits and choc and this wide deep mouthfeel.
