Bottle from Westhill SS. It pours darkest brown to black with decent deep tan head. The aroma is toasty, roasted malt, bitter - sweet, cookie dough, dried fruits, earthy, pie crust, toasted brown sugar, plum and vanilla. The taste is dry, bitter-sweet, toasty malt, cookie dough, plenty of dried fruits, prune, raisins, fruit cake, vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, spice, toffee, marzipan and a hint of alcohol with a sweetish, fruity finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Works quite well actually. Sweet, but moreish.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - dark brown to black and opaque. Thin crema head. Nose - booze and wood. Molasses and burnt toffee. Taste - more molasses, wood and booze. Interesting notes of peanut and bubblegum at the back. Palate - rich and close to full bodied. Though it's rich and sweet, it remains fairly balanced and drinkable. Overall - good beer!
