A unique Australian Pilsner, brewed in Beechworth from Chestnuts grown locally in the Beechworth and Stanley hills. The Chestnut Pilsner also uses Galaxy hops from the Rostrevor Hop Garden in the nearby Ovens Valley. As with any of the worlds best pilsner the most important ingredients is time, and we have allowed this beer plenty of it, with each batch aged for around 3 months before release. Bridge Road Brewers have created a gem of a beer through experimenting with local produce, a truly local brew!
This unique lager is very pale and presents a crisp ’pilsner’ like profile combined with a distinct nutty character owing to the use of Chestnuts in the mash. The crisp clean profile of this beer lends itself to the summer months and can be paired with seafood or lighter dishes.

Bottle 330ml. Gold colour with white, very nice looking, head, good lacing. Pilsner notes in aroma, a little bit sweet, no hops. Classic in taste but it’s too small malty, too small hoppy, it’s similar to concern beer. Medium carbonated, low bitterness, medium light, drinkable but generally nothing special.

On tap at Bridge Road, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of grassiness. Flavour is crisp, with maybe some of the toasted chestnuts upfront. Dry biscuity finish. Not the most interesting but it's clean.

Hazy pale gold beer, little white head. Crispy palate, carbonated bite. Minerals, semi dry. Semi sweet pale malt. Super light citric hops. Forensic trace of chesnut, hardly there. Dry finish. Not bad but the chesnut and galaxy hops are hardly worth a mention,

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light with grassy notes. The flavour is weak bitter and slightly watery grass with some spicy nettle there too. Sounds awful doesn’t it, but it was actually quite drinkable and it has that typical Bridge Road style that seems to run through many of their beers. The palate was smooth and with a little spice to round it off nicely. A "lager" ? Really ? This beer really grew on me the more I drank. Needs to be served cool.
