We've always held the more traditional styles in high regard and it seems like people appreciate that; so it's with great pleasure that we finally get to bring this golden beauty back. After last weeks headline grabber - the hugely hopped and ultra modern Nimbus, this one's a world away … and we're equally as pleased to put this beer up next.

This year we double down on the gold, with First Gold and Goldings taking the lead. Here we're looking for those honeyed-earth notes, a little wood, dare i say it and those light spicy gestures that they offer up so well - but we're also encouraging our yeast to display a measured ester profile here. Using the classic English Ale strain S04 we'll see a little fruity sweetness shine through but again it also adds a touch of the old school - ‘when beer tasted like beer’ classic and classy British earthiness. And thats exactly what we're after.
