Nyborg Kongebryg is one of five beers we developed in collaboration with Nyborg Castle. It is a traditional pale ale, to which we added a royal, exotic touch of lemon: something only kings could afford in the Middle Ages. It has a lovely, amber colour that comes from the caramelised malts we have used for this beer. It has a wonderful citrus, banana aroma with a lovely, crisp, sweet, malty fragrance. The taste is full-bodied and sweet with penetrating citrus notes.

Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of grain, malt, lemons, and a bit yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, straw, and yeast, leading to a dry finish.

75 cl bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge off white head. Aroma is faint, light toasted malty and mild fruity. Solid bitter, light fruity and toasted malty. Dry and light yeasty into a bitter finish.

Bottle, 75cl, at TFODRBSG-12. An almost clear one, golden in color and with a dense, two-finger off-white head. Rather yeasty on the nose, with fruityness and some spiced hints. The flavor is equally yeasty, not very sexy I think, with citrus and a pleasant bitterness. Quite lemony too. Full body, semi-sweet and quite carbonated. Certainly nothing very interesting. Way too yeasty for that. 120818

Bottle 6% @ FOneFan, Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2012. Hazy golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, yeast and spices. Flavour is malt, very yeasty, hop, spices, little bitter and a little sweet.
