Nyborg Kongebryg is one of five beers we developed in collaboration with Nyborg Castle. It is a traditional pale ale, to which we added a royal, exotic touch of lemon: something only kings could afford in the Middle Ages. It has a lovely, amber colour that comes from the caramelised malts we have used for this beer. It has a wonderful citrus, banana aroma with a lovely, crisp, sweet, malty fragrance. The taste is full-bodied and sweet with penetrating citrus notes.

Bottled@CPH BF 2013. Orangeish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and bready malts along with some fruity and floral notes. Flavour is bready malts, a bit doughlike notes, some sweetness as well as fruity and floral notes. A bit citrusy notes in the finish. Quite bland and not very inspiring as such.

Shared 750 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 6%. Orange colour, moderate white head. Fairly nice citrussy aroma. Refreshing flavour, notes of citrus / lemons, but not very sour. Spicy notes too, moderate but sufficient hops. Very drinkable.

Bottle, 6%. OK refreshing hop aroma, quite subtle. Cloudy dark yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is quite bitter - a clean bitterness. Unfortunately, there is not much flavour apart from that. Slightly high carbonation, but OK mouthfeel.
