It became legal to brew beer as a private person in the US in 1978. This however did not stop many farmers from brewing beer for family and contract farm workers in the 40s,50s and 60s. My Grandfather was one of these farmers. When I was 15 (1967) years old my Grandfather asked me to make his farm beer for the 1968 harvest year. Needless to say I was honored and scared at the same time, would I fail? I said yes and was given a written page of instructions to follow. I've been trying for a few years to reproduce his beer and this is as close as it will ever be. Thank you, Grandfather, for trusting me to brew your beer...Good thing we never told Grandma. Good with all food...Also good friends and fun.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a rough, white head. Slight citrus in the nose, but also an unclean tang. Medium body, sweet maltiness with some floral hops. A slight tartness before the hoppy finish. Flavor better than the aroma. 131125

Bottled. A hazy yellow beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of citrus fruits, straw, and a bit of brett. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, citrus fruits, and a bit of brett, leading to a dry finish. 5/2/5/3/9
