Aroma: Not very strong - malt and light spices.

Appearance: Clear golden body. Thick white head than soon fades to nothing. Light carbonation.

Taste: Strange soapy flavour. Also hints of cereal and boiled vegetables (similar to Black Isle’s organic blonde). As the beer warms, subtle orange notes become evident.

Palate: Light, watery mouthfeel. Gentle bitter finish. At just 4.5%, very little alcohol taste.

Overall: This is definitely more of a pale ale than an IPA. Its alcohol content is quite low and it lacks the sharp hoppiness of an IPA. For me, this is just not crisp or complex enough and there are some odd flavours going on here.

Pours golden with a generous head and frantic bubbles. The nose has grapefruit pith, grapefruit and maybe some oranges against a light malt background. The taste has grapefruit and orange peel and again there is a light malty note. The palate is light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a clean, bitter finish. Overall, a good beer.
