On tap. Pours close to black with an orange hue and a creamy beige head. Sweet roasty nose. Medium body, sweet licoricey roast and a whiff of nuts. Subdued bitterness. Very, very well crafted and extremely drinkable. 190712

Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, syrup, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of syrup, roasted malt, and a bit of wood, leading to a bitter and roasted finish.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black wth a small tan head. Sweet, dark malty and roasted. Bitter and light chocolate. Toasted malty and light breadish into a lasting malty finish, good counterbalance from the bitterness.
