Scoot to the edge of the bar. Bend from the waist down to sip from the tulip glass. Look a little silly? Perfect. Sit up. Take a sip of your beer. Now introduce your new friend to a stranger. Repeat.
Legend has it the Dutch Navy, the fiercest player in the 17th century battle of the seas, got their courage from heavy doses of pre-battle Genever. The legend lives through you with a tulip glass, nearly overflowing meant to be slurped and enjoyed with your favorite beer. We call it "The Little Head-Butt" or "Koopstootje.
Brewed as a deconstruction of Lucas Bols Genever to promote the dutch tradition of ’a beer and a shot’.

Pours blond without much head or lacing. Some initial florals and lots of malt. Tastes a little boozy, even though alcohol isn’t super high, but I guess that’s what they are going for here. Finishes a little sour. Nothing special here. On tap at Blue Monk.

Farmer’s Cabinet, Philly tap: Pours a hazy orange/yellow with a white head. Aroma is spice, yeast, and fruit. Taste is slightly sweet, dessert spice type stuff. Body is pretty nice. This ain’t nothing memorable, but it is somewhat unique. Stillwater has done better.

Pour is a hazy blond with a large white head. Aroma is dry pale malts and some spicy hop. Flavor is a light spice and fruit with some estery yeast. Finish was dry but tart. No frills here. This was listed as a saison when I sampled it.

Draught. Pours with a crystal clear golden hued body with a white head that lasts and leaves good lace. Aromas are of peanut butter, nutty, grainy, low esters, peppery, clove, lightly spicy, grassy with a bit of a vegital note. Flavors are bitter, grassy, medium esters (apple and pear mostly). Very dry, a bit rustic, grainy and bready. Medium spices, juniper? Very lively bubbles, medium bodied. Odd beer.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemons, brettanomyces, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, lemons, lacto acid, and a bit of brett, leading to a dry slightly tart finish.
