Additions of Amber and Munich malt give a strong biscuity base alongside an addition of roasted malt which brings lots of colour and notes of cold brew coffee and bittersweet chocolate without being too 'dark'. A Hop combo of Perle and Phoenix brings traditional lager hop characteristics to the beer but less grassy and more spice and tobacco. Cold fermented over 2 weeks at 11C to produce delicate lager yeast notes before step cooling down to -1C for 2 weeks to crisp up and become clean, easy drinking.

11/4/2026. Cask at the Isle of Man CAMRA 13th Beer & Cider Festival. Asked for a taster as the previous ones from this brewery hadn’t been great. It’s a sweet, malty, chocolatey dark lager. Some mild bitterness came through. Better than the two I just had thirds of.

Cask at Crown, Stockport. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a sizable foamy cream head. There’s malts and honey in the aroma. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture. Flavour has malts, nuts, caramel and toffee. After a while some sharpness becomes evident and overall tangy leading to a dry and slightly spicy finish. This is decent – but it doesn’t have much of a lager characteristic.

Keg @ Smithfield Market Tavern, Manchester. Black with a small light-brown head. Mild honey infused dark malty brew. Its carbonation has an impactful influence in terms of texture.
