Tasting at Papsø’s
Black color; brownish head. Mild aroma, with some roasted malt and some berries. There is too much carbonation; burnt malt, then some dark chocolate, dust; expected bitterness, in a dry final.
Dry and ashes brew.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of maneliquor. Pours an opaque dark brown with a lively, beige head leaving quite some lacework. Yeasty, roasty nose. Medium body, roast, yeast and spices with a slightly metallic edge. Carbonation is a little excessive. Gets metallic and yeasty towards the finish. 160612

Growler. Black with a large tan head. Aroma of pears, tart apples mocha, pepper, vanilla. Taste is barely sweet with cocoa, coffee, pepper, pears, oranges, a little banana. Finish is a little roasty with some coffee and spices. If Black Saison is a thing, I guess this is one and not a porter. Quite interesting and pretty good. Very quaffable at 6.5%.
