Bottle shared by Ari. Pours a murky ruby amber with no head whatsoever. Aroma has a lot of sour fruit with a good amount of acid and a backing dry wine note. Flavor has a good amount of acid and sour red fruit with a dry red wine finish.

Bottle via a trade with ratman! Pours with a hazed but still vibrant red hued body with a tan ring of foam that fades. Aromas are huge with a lacto/yogurt character, sweet cherries, red wine, and a mild bretty funk. Flavors are tart with some acetic notes. Strong cherry acid (malic) as well. Tons of tannin, cherry, mild wine notes, alcohol, yogurt, vanilla. Doesn’t feel especially vibrant (maybe the abv?). Still, bracing and puckering acidity, medium alcohol on the palate. Lively bubbles and dry with an acetic finish.

Bottle @ home. Dull orange purple appearance with a bubbly reddish cream head that dissipates quickly. Sour cherry aroma was obvious upon first opening the bottle. Quite red vinous, sour cherry, slightly musty, mildly funky aroma with a hint of strawberries and oak. Fairly puckering, sour cherry/strawberry/cranberry, dark grape, vinous, moderately funky, light vanilla, woody, acidic flavor. Moderately to highly dry finish. Tart, dry, sour, cherry aftertaste. Maybe my favorite sour offering by Avery.
