Cask (handpump) @ Alehouse (formerly the Hobgoblin), 2 Broad Street, Reading, Berkshire, England RG1 2BH.Clear medium yellow amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, nutty, caramel, light toffee, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120502]

Cask@The Alehouse, Reading. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, mild nectar, some toffee and mild leathery and nutty notes. Flavour is being quite similar, with some wooden and resiny notes added.

Cask at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough. This has an intense brewery aroma of boiling wort; it’s deep amber with a thin cream head; and has a classic malty flavour with some herbal hops giving a mellow finish. A straightforward English bitter.
