Bottle @ home. Gusher. Pours dark amber with a fading light tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, candy sugar, light chilly, sweet candi. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, chilly, sweet licorice. Medium body, soft carbonation, Warming chilly finish. 140914

Bottle. Pours hazy brownish black with large creamy light brown head. Aroma is intense raspberry yoghurt with hints of sweet licorice. Taste is initial light acidic, then medium sweet and faint bitter. Body is oily with soft carbonation. Finish is long and dominated chili and sweet licorice, but there is also notes of roasted malt, syrup, dried fruit and cane sugar.

Appearance: Cloudy red brownish color with a off white head that ends up in a thin layer. Some lacing.
Aroma: Mild sweet malty, licorice, fruity and some chocolate.
Palate: Medium (+) body. Slightly sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft carbonation. Creamy texture.
Taste: Mild fruity, rich chilli, mild spices and licorice.
Overall impression: A lot of chilli in this after a while. A little bit to much fruity notes that where disturbing.

Bottle picked up at Barley Wine in Copenhagen & shared in Osaka with other beer lovers. My bottle was also a bit of a gusher. A reddish-brown pour with a chili aroma complemented by some rich licorice notes. The taste is chili, then licorice followed by a hint of sweet caramel malts before you get more chili fire & further hints of licorice. I found it had lots of heat but it wasn’t overpowering. A hit with the rest of the guys. Good enough.

Bottled@CPH BF 2013. Amber colour, small head. Aroma is fruity, chili, some wooden notes as well. Flavour is chili, liquorice, mild chocolaty notes as well as some wood. Flavour is toffee, chili, mild liquorice as well as some wood and mild herbal notes as well. Nice toffee and chili in the aftertaste.

Flaska från SB. Kastanjefärgad, klar, ganska lågt skum. Söt brödig maltig doft, med torkad frukt, röda bär, sötlakrits och lite stickande chili. Smaken är mycket söt, lite belgisk dubbel med antydningar av sötlaktis, men chilin tar över alldeles för mycket, mycket hetta och inte särskilt välavvägd.

From a bottle at ØK 13. Muddy dark amber body. Spiced aroma of chili and mid-sweet malts. Liquorice flavours at first before the chili part sets in and totally dominating the taste character. Not for me (Copenhagen, 25.05.2013).
