Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Columbus Circle, 6/26/12

Aroma: The nose has some dark fruits/raisin, alcohol, wood, and sweet caramel malts
Appearance: Pours a murky looking reddish-brown color, a light brown head, and a mild lace
Flavor: The taste is sweet and hot, lots of overripe fruit, heavy boozy, with some oak and caramel
Palate: It is full bodied, with a thick, sticky texture, and some mid-heavy heat that leads to a long, hot finish
Overall Impression: This is one is fairly sweet and fairly hot. It is also pretty intense. You can really feel the 13.4%, as well as the big malty punch from the over-ripe fruits and the sweet caramel. Those two components were the key components of this one. I'd like to see how this one ages, it's still pretty huge at this point.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, over ripe fruites, and brettanomyces, leading to a dry alcoholic finish, where the alcohol burns the throat.

Tasting at Papsø’s
Dark color, mahogany to brown, with red shades; medium sized head. The malt aroma is strong, caamellish, with hints of wood and vanilla, fudge. Strong and cloying mouthfeel, rather oily, with strong and sweet malty flavor; it has a strong nutty touch, with traces of bitter orange; strong bitterness too.
Quite good; big.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Elwood. Pours a clear reddish brown with a rich and lacing beige head. Very sweet caramellish aroma, some raisin notes - somewhat herbal hop character. Rich body, heavy rich caramel, some overripe fruit and nuts. Rich boozy finish. Perhaps a little sticky. 160612

Bottle. Batch 001 from 9/7/11. Pours with a clear, very deep brown body with a tan head. Aromas are of concord grapes, dark fruit esters, alcohol, brandy, rye whiskey, vanillin, chewy, figs, alcohol. Flavors are sweet, chewy, tobacco, fudge, concord grapes, mild vanillin, light cherry, alcohol, raisins, figs, plums. Light bubbles, extremely sweet, lots of alcohol, and medium bitter. For my palate: not nearly as nice as their BA Human Block Head (as far as their BA beers go).
