Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good fully lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Chocolate notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Some oyster notes. Average moderate bitter dry finish. Oily palate.

500ml bottle. Black colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Minimally roasty dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate, dry hoppy overtones. Taste is roasty dark malty, dry hoppy overtones, subtle hints of coffee; dry, minimally spicy and herbal finish, minimally sticky palate. OK, not more.

Bottle from Kris Wines. Black with a big brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish. 080513

Cask handpump at The Dove, Ipswich. Pours black with a frothy tan head. Lovely chocolate/mocha aroma. Roasted chocolate comes through on drinking. Rich, and full bodied which seemed more than 4.1%.

Bottle 500ml. @ [ Edinburgh Danish Invasion Tasting) by cgarvieuk - Edinburgh ].Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, tart malt - coffee, light to moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, tart coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120422]

Opaque black beer, good frothy tan head. Minerally dark malt nose. Smooth palate. Sourish dark malt balanced by lacto sweetness. Well integrated subtle red fruits. Finishes light and dry. Well joined up light stout.

Cask@Kings Head, Norwich. Very much pitch black colourr, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, mild sweet malts and some smoked wet wood. Flavour is roasted malts,s ome toast, smoked wet wood as well as liquorice and some mild toffee.
