Bottle at home picked up from the brewery in the summer. Good pour with a perfect tiny head. Bags of flavourand mouthfeel for such a low abv. Really good malts. Lovely.

500ml bottle bought at the ABV Store on Norwich. Oily black body, low fawn coloured head, minimal lacing. Roasted malty aroma with hints of caramel and earth. Dark doughy flavours joined by cocoa, caramel and minerals. Smoothly roasted endnotes. Fine bodied for the low abv. Decent stout. (Shared with Gary in Lowestoft 08.07.2017).

Bottle from Ales By Mail. Pours cloudy dark brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of fruit and roasted malt, with notes of yeast. Bitter flavour with notes of roast and touches of yeast. Hints of liquorice. Bitter aftertaste. Quite nice but not really extraordinary.

Bottle, 4.1%. Good roasted, fruity and salty aroma. Almost black colour. Big stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted with a little smoke and ashtray. Late coffee and chocolate note. The mouthfeel could be better, but it is OK for the style.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s pad, thanks to he, 02/09/14. Pitch black with a well appointed tan covering that retains - a good looker. Nose is light roast, chocolate vanilla, dark fruits, hint of perfume, hoppy backpangs. Taste comprises light roast, chocolate, spice, mineral notes, soy sauce. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough stout.

Bottle from Ales By Mail [090814]
Pitch black, big frothy tan head that slowly dissipates, some lacing
Aroma - Roasted malts, some coffee grounds, dark malts, slightly smoky
Taste of roasted malts, yeasty, burnt malts, roasted coffee, dab of sweet dark malt in background, dab of dark fruits, bit of liquorice, get overburnt with the drinking
Palate - soft carb, medium thin body, quite smooth. Finish of dry bitter burnt roast, burnt roast coffee, dab of dark chocolate
Overall - Decent amount of flavour for abv but too much burnt flavour - 1 pint is enough of this

Bottle shared in London - sourced from Male Ales. Pours rich brown-black with a dense, frothy beige head. The nose has dry roasted malts, milk chocolate, burnt wood. Light sweet flavor with charred malts, some lacto cocoa character, scorched earth, minerals. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely dynamic coco character, moderate roasted malts, some milk chocolate, burnt wood, bitter earth. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours near black with a thick tan head. The nose is roasted malt, earth, salted caramel, umami, toasted sesame seed, plum sauce, and light soy sauce. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, roasty, earth, cocoa, salted caramel and light umami action with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a 100% sure of the Asian cuisine on the nose, but it is a well rounded stuff.
