Bottle from Cave a Bulles. Hazy dark brown body. Sweet, pleasant malty nose, full - brown sugar and coffee. Messy light taste, coffee and cream that turns into beets/carrots at will, bit soapy too, slightly herbal, light alcohol. Didn’t thrill me all that much as it’s too messy, but it does function as a whole and it’s still a relatively nice beer.

Dark foggy brown, small amount of head. Aroma is all barley, wet barley, not the appealing barley aroma I like. Taste is a spicey barley mix, not a bad combination but lacks complexity. Worth a try, perhaps.

Bottle @ La Cervoiserie, La Rochelle (France). pours dark brown, tan head. aroma, nice roasted malts with a nutty nose and lingering yeast. flavors, malty, dominated by enjoyable nutty flavors and coffee that although not overpowering allows the beer to keep a nice malty profile that at times also shows some signs of chocolate. The overall finish keeps some citrus hops notes, touch of spices and yeast that are more subtle.

Bottle from La Cave à Bulles. Gushed a trifle. Pours black with a slight tan head. Aromas of anise and smoke. Thinnish body with mild carbonation. Flavor is really toasted malt with notes of chocolate and anise. Strange, but it drinks pretty well.

Bottle from La Cave à Bières, Paris
Black color, huge head initially, then reducing to a thin layer. Delicate aroma of roasted malt and chocolate, very light liquorice too. It has a good body structure, with good chocolate flavor, light roasted malt, subdued sweetness. Correct bitterness. Very well balanced. One very good from France.
