Colorado Springs was founded as a resort town in the pristine wilderness. It attracted so many English tourists, many of whom had helped finance the town’s railroad, that it garnered the nickname “Little London”.

In tribute, we present this English Mild. A most refreshing brown ale, it’s malt-forward with dried fruit aromas that lead to a light body of roasted coffee, chocolate and walnut. It’s a true session beer to start your retreat.

Taste at Trail's End. Pours black, with a medium, bubbly, tan head. The aroma is mild coffee, light bread, salt, and rye. Sweet and malty, with no real bitterness. Light body, with a creamy, flat feel. This is reasonable and easy, but not that great.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops, malt, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet and a bit sour with notes of caramel, bread, smoke, and roasted malt, leading to a light sour finish. Very authentic, but I’m not a big Mild fan. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Tap @ PPBC. Dark copper red appearance with a small, off white head. Creamy, toasty, nutty aroma. Very easy drinking, rich toasty, toffee/caramel malty flavor with a big nuttiness. Nice one. 5.2% seems quite high for an english mild but it tastes good.
