Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is grainy malt, straw, welcome touch of grassy and floral-ish hops in the finish. Flavour is light sweet with a light to moderate bitterness. Body is medium. Nicely clean Pilsener, dry with grainy malt and a pleasant hoppy finish. The current RateBeer score doesn't do this justice.

Haberstumpf Trebgaster Zunft-Pils, Flasche von Keils Getränkemarkt, Bayreuth. - Goldgelb, klar. - In der Nase brotig-süßliches helles Malz und mild krautiger Hopfen, zart schwefelig. - Antrunk fein hellmalzig mit schlanker kräuteriger Herbe. Zarte Kandissüße reibt sich an mild trockener Herbe. Milder rezent, nicht so schlank wie ein Pilsner sein sollte aber doch leicht. Im Abgang immer noch süßlich, dazu milde Herbe mit Kräutern, Zitronenschale und Anflügen von Pfefferminz und Zahnkrem. - Ganz gewiß kein klassisches Pilsener, auch mit seiner ungewöhnlichen Kombination von feiner Malzsüße und leicht schräger aber frischer Hopfung doch angenehm zu trinken.

Bottled. Lightly hazy golden, brief head. Minerally chalky nose with some grass. Dryish with light-medium body and clean, crisp mouthfeel. Unpleasantly chalky. Mid bitter finish.

Bottle 500ml. @ home.Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, sweet malt, mazipan malt notes, light to moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, sweet butter notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120517]

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass not really, foam shows very big bulbs. Starts mild-malty, spicy like wheat. Not bad!

Bottled. Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is diacetyl, harsh grass and some metal. Flavour is diacetyl, grass and quite much hay. Not very pleasant...

Bottle (bought at the brewery): Straw golden, small and stable white head; intensive hayish and floral hoppy nose, underpinned by some sweet malt; solid bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, fizzy edges; aromatic floral-hoppy - again - and citrousy hoppy finish, some sweet malt appears in the very end. a very decent Pils - and another proof, that the Haberstumpf beers are really good, when the brewers manage it to keep out these damned infections........

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a foamy white head of medium size, which is quickly gone but leaves with a lot of lace. Aromatic nose of moderately sweet malt with a subtle fruitiness and a light hoppy touch. Bitter-sweet flavour, solid malty base with fruity accents and light herbal notes; medium to light bodied with a pleasant carbonation; almost dry, mild-bitter finish with soft herbal hoppy notes. Quite rounded and quaffable brew, which is a bit stronger than an ordinary Pilsener.
