Almost black beer and without head. Aroma has dried fruits, vanilla, wood, light marzipan. Taste has dried fruits, prune, raisin, vanilla, barrel, some liquorice. Only medium bodied. Slightly boozy. Unbalanced.

330 ml crowler. Pours a dark reddish brown with little head. Aromas of caramel, nougat, soft oaky cognac, raisins and sweet bready malts. Flavors follow same with a little more emphasis on cognac and dry caramel. Warm finish. Holding up really well. Excellent

Tap @ Borefts. Dark brown color, raisin, apple, calvados, oak, vanilla, cognac and dried fruit in the aroma. Deep dark brown color. Malty sweet flavor with calvados, cognac, raisin, vanilla and oak. Alcoholic but a great beer.

Draught @ 8th. BBF 2016 [ 8th Borefts Beer Festival 2016 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As Kees Barrel Project #08/2016 ].Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, dark malt, caramel, light dried fruit, cognac notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, wood, cognac, dark malt, caramel, roasted - toasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, light alcoholic. [20160923] 8-3-9-4-15

Brown color, minimal white head with very short duration. Aroma has notes of ripe fruit, sweet malts and caramel. Flavor is slightly sweet, with good presence of alcohol, caramel, dried fruits and some barrel notes. Creamy and smoothy final, light bitterness on palate, alcoholic and warm final.

Borefts VIII. Day 1. Think this was a bottle pour. Almost opaque brown beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is smooth and has decent fine carbonation. Smooth dry malts, sweetish dark malts. Spice. Mild varnish. Spicy cognac. Cognac soaked fruits. Soft creamy spicy finish. Apart from a little varnish, very good.

On tap at Borefts Bier Festival 2016, courtesy of klm1. Pours brown, off-white head. Caramel, malty, fruity, dried fruit, vanilla, cognac. Sweet, warming, soft carbonation. Full bodied.
