Draught at Ørsted, Copenhagen
Muddy amber-brown color with creamy head. The aroma is strong, sweet, with pond water and smoke; the sweet and smoke are appreciated, the dirty water eliminates elegance. Heavy body, but the mouthfeel is not too affected; definitively sweet and smokey, luckily there is a bold bitterness to balance the malt; instead the result is very chaotic; the final is very smoked too, with a wood character.
It reminds me of a smoked Barley Wine, like the Ungstrup’s Reserve, but more bitter.
An inelegant soup, drinkable because I like the ingredients, but very messy.

100ml from a bottle at Ølfestival 2012. Hazy brown body. Aroma of malts and sausages added by a spicy touch. Smoked malts, bacon-like with toasted grain, and dried fruity flavour. Smoked bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Good without greater excitements (Copenhagen, 10.05.2012).

En belgisk variant. Rökig, rund och len, väldigt fruktig men en aning för söt för min smak.
