50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours hazy brown with a lightly beige head. Smoky aroma with burnt wood, bonfire, smoked sausages, caramel, malt and hints of fruit. A bit strange combination, it takes a while to find the Belgian aromas in the smoke. Sweet, smoky, fruity and sugary with a nice bitterness in the finish. A bit too sweet, but quite nice.

Bottle 500ml @ Geokkjer
Pours cloudy brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, bacon and smoke. Taste is medium sweet and light to bitter with a burnt, strange indescribable taste. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Big beige head. Hazy amber body with massive carbonation. Smoky earthy cow dung aroma with tar notes. Dry-sweet charcoal smoky licorice taste with earthy funky notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish funky earthy licorice aftertaste with resiny minty charcoal smoke notes. Very sweet, leaves sticky sugars on lips. Interesting and unusual, but the aroma was not nice, and the overall beer is odd. Parts are great, and other parts are not so good. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.6%. Cloudy brown colour, pours very fizzy with a huge beige head. Strong sweetish aroma with fruity notes, strangely mixed with even stronger notes of smoked meat. The flavour is sweet with notes of kandij sugar and caramel, soon overpowered by strong notes of smoked meat. Not really my cup of tea.

Bottle from barleywine. unclear brown, smooth large beige head. Color is pretty ugly, but the head is beautiful so 3 it is.Smoked aroma (charchoal, faint meaty notes) faint malty note, smoke dominates.flavor is sweet malts, smoked notes, the end is charchoal, sweet malts and smoke, The smoked notes are quite heavy, reminds me of when some food has been burned when cooking. Smoked note not very refined. Definetly an extreme smoked. The sweet malty note is not that belgian, just sweet malty, Personally I didn’t like this one, even though kissmeyer and hornbeer both usually make great beer.

Bottle at Ølfestival 2012. A mudrky, brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Smoked ham, pine cones and caramel on the nose. Caramel dominated flavor with some smoked ham and a fine bitterness. Sweetness too. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Lasting bitterness and a light smoke flavor in the end. A pretty decent beer, although looking quite bad. 120510
