Cask. Goldeny amber colour with a mediumsized fluffy/bubbly head. Aroma is malty, caramelly as well as some floral, wooden and resiny notes to it. Flavour is quite nice on the floral and wooden hoppy notes and also has some slight bready and quite crisp malty notes to go with it. Good balance, and quite easy to drink ESB.

Cask-conditioned at the Hampshire Beer festival, the Seven Stars, Bristol 4/05/2011. Copper coloured with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, red fruit and caramel aroma with a touch of dusty hop. Flavour of berry fruits and slightly earthy malts with a dryish finish. Good.

Cask at the Hobgoblin, Reading. Poured bright reddish copper with a thin scummy-looking beige head; rich purple fruit aroma; full bodied with a rich purple fruit flavour, but lacking the sweetness that I’d expected; then a solid, dry finish. Very drinkable.
