Beer nerds only like Imperial Stout because it tastes like chocolate and contains loads of alcohol... Boom, Roasted!
We brewed a English-inspired strong oatmeal stout. We started with heirloom Maris Otter barley, malted by hand in England. Boosting the body with flaked oats, and adding roast with both roasted barley and dehusked German chocolate malt (to reduce the charred bitter). Low hop aroma, but just a touch of fruit from our house English ale strain.

Tap. Pours opaque black, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is roasty, rich notes of molasses and cocoa. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter rich and roasty. Medium plus body. Quite solid for a straight adjunct free stout. 3.9
