12 oz. can, pours a cloudy dull copper with a small white head. Aroma is quite briny, with notes of melon, brine, gentle sea salt and lacto tartness. Flavour is quite briny with watermelon notes upfront, followed by medium saltiness and gentle lacto tartness. Excellent incorporation of the watermelon. Super refreshing and drinkable. Everything you look for in a gose.

Can: Slightly hazed, light yellow/gold with a foamy white head. Salty watermelon aroma. Taste is even more of the same. Rind and sea salt....wheat malt. Wonderful saltiness alongside a mild tartness. Very good.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a hazy yellow-gold color with a small creamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was tart, salty, wheaty and had a bit of melon. The flavor was artificial watermelon, a hint of salt and mild yeasty and lactic undertones. Medium length finish with lingering watermelon. Light to medium body. ok.

Pours gold with a quickly fading head.Nose shows funk, watermelon, soft straw notes.Flavours include massive authentic watermelon and a fair whack of acidity.

The beer is a pale golden yellow. Quite clear. Decently sized fizzy white head. Bubbles fade to the edges in short order. The aroma is lemon, yogurty lactic sourness, watermelon candy, a little stonefruit. Bright gose flavor with a sweet twist. Taste follows through with these flavors. Mild brine note. It tastes like watermelon jolly ranchers dissolved in a gose. Definitely interesting and the mix of sweet and sour and salty makes you want to go back for more. However, it’s a bit much to drink for too long. The base beer seems quite dry and packs a moderate amount of underlying astringency, but the salted fruit flavor kicks up the sweetness. Feel is light with a touch of creaminess. It would be fun to see AV make a larger lineup of gose variations and put them all in a mixed case of cans.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas if big juicy watermelon, tart lemon, lime, green apple, pear, white grape, coriander, sea salt, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light pepper/funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, watermelon, salt/spice, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy watermelon, tart lemon, lime, green apple, pear, white grape, coriander, sea salt, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light pepper/funk, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of fruity/acidic tartness and light yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of watermelon, tart lemon, lime, green apple, pear, sea salt, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, light pepper/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, watermelon, salt/spice, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tartness/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from acidity after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, fairly creamy/bready, and acidic/saline balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.2%. Overall this is an excellent Gose style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, watermelon, salt/spice, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Clear golden very little white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is light tart with hints of salt, light body, light/medium carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is tart, brine, and watermelon. I would expect this to be sessionable on a summer day.

Bottle - Melon, sweet and salty notes. Candy and bubblegum like. Clear pale with a fizzy white head that dissipates quickly. Sweet, candy like melon notes and a nice salty tartness. Nice.
