This chestnut coloured bitter provides a full malt flavour and balanced bitterness with complex fruit and a slightly spicy nose. The main grist is pearl malt with oats rather than wheat to aid the creamier head retention, and crystal malt and a touch of roast barley provides a rounded nutty flavour.

Cask @ Haymarket. Pours dark amber going into black (chestnut). The nose is creamy with a hint of chocolate but malt and biscuits are more dominant. The taste is more malt and biscuits. The palate is medium bodied, creamy in texture and not as clean on the end as preferred but not bad. Overall, it’s solid but not going back for another.
