Tap@Skaal, Copenhagen - golden Amber coloured pour with white head. Sweet malty and fruity with some notes of caramel and fudge, some dried fruit accents, solid hoppy backing, Bourbon soaked wooden nuances into the close.

Gylden brun klar med høyt beige skum. Lukter trevirke, svisker, alkohol, sitrus, vanilje og lett brent karamell. Fyldig. Mye bitterhet, rå alkoholsmak, trevirke og skarp brent karamell. Heftige saker. Lang.

On tap at the Crafty Fox, San Francisco. Pours cloudy dark orange with medium white head. Malty, dried fruit, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, quite sweet with some bitterness. Wood. Warming, some unpleasant alcohol. Full bodied. Reminds me of barley wine. Interesting, not sure it gained by barrel aging though.

Bottle, 12.4%. Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, hop, wood, vanilla and peach. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, vanilla, bourbon, sweet, warming, peach, hop, bitter and notes of alcohol.

Oak, cedar, caraway nose. Cloudy copper, medium sticky yellow head. Oak, triple sec, caramel, grapefruit. Medium body, moderate carbonation, boozy. Tons of barrel character, huge, a bit too much.

Clear amber pour with a thin tan head and visible carbonation slowly rising to the surface. Bourbon, toffee and caramel in the nose, with a hint of orange zest and pine resin. The taste follows with some more bittering hops, grapefruit and harsh levels of alcohol. This could have been really nice if its ABV were 3-4% lower.

Bottled 355ml (Beer Hunters). Clear deep golden colour, small white head, lace. Bourbon and resin in the nose. Medium-bodied. Flavour has first bourbon, then lots of piney, resiny hops, alcohol. Warming, hoppy-vanilla finish.

355ml bottle from Alko. Pours clear dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of bourbon, wood, herbal hops, oak and toffee. Taste is sweet, caramely malty and heavy with bourbon, wood, oak and toffee notes, hints of herbal hops and pine. Finish is sweet, resinous and caramely malty with some oak, wood, bourbon and vanilla, hints of pine and resin. Heavy and sweet, feels more like a barley wine than an IIPA.

Flaska från SB. Bärnstensfärgad klar vätska med medelhögt smutsvitt krämigt skum. Stor doft av aromatiskt trä, tallkåda, bourbon, vanilj, ek, besk citrusmarmelad. Mycket bourbon men den tål det, värmande och kryddig alkohol. Smiskar fortfarande tungar men sin massiva beska men nu med en nästan lika intensiv bourbonkaraktär. Maffigt men kan väl bra och kanbske ytterligare ett exempel på att mer inte alltid är bättre.
