We designed this beer with one objective: to use only the caramalts and crystal malts that we have in inventory. We brew such a variety of beers from all over the world, that we are often left with partial bags of such a vast variety of specialty grains. This winter warmer has over 15 varieties of barley, giving this brew a super complex malt profile. You’ll get caramel, raisin, plum, toast, biscuit, and chocolate notes from this beer along with the festive ginger spice and a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg.

22oz bottle, purchased at Whole Foods - Alexandria. Poured a dark amber color with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma was light spices, dark fruits. Light toffee, dark fruits, lots of sweet malts. Tasty for the season.

22oz bottle from Norm’s pours a hazy brown with some clumpy, off white head. Nose had a lot of spice, almost to the point where my buddy thought it was a pumpkin ale, lots of clove, plenty of malt/toffee, the raisin/prune is there as it warms. Flavor packs more winter ale, malt, toffee, some dried out biscuit, cherry - both fresh and dried, raisin, prune, clove, cinnamon, treacle. Full bodied, lightly sticky finish.

Eucalyptus and cherry nose. Clear brown, thin yellow head. Strong menthol notes, very much like a cough drop but not as sweet. Medium body, easy carbonation. Medicinal and weird, but not indicative of any sort of infection.

Keg at Mellow Mushroom Charlottesville, as I spent the night in the hotel upstairs after being blizzarded out of my own driveway. Clear dark bronze, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel. The taste is spices, plum, caramel, nuts. Medium bodied, oily, lingering spice, low carbonation.

On tap at Sedona. Very interesting idea. Hope it turns out! Would make an interesting series... Anyway. Pours clearish brown with a small huge head. Taste is quite interesting. Caramel, cinnamon, ginger, chocolate, dark fruits, vanilla. Petty damn good for a beer hash. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
