In this Wee Heavy, we use our house ale yeast and brettanomyces yeast together to enhance the flavor profile of this traditional beer style. This malt forward scotch ale acts as a nice backbone for the strong fermentation character of our yeast blend. Flavors and aromas of sour cherry, ripe pineapple, honeydew melon, and chocolate Necco wafers dominate the beer.

Draft pour at Denizens. Poured a hazy, murky red-brown color with an off-white head. Aroma was light sour cherry skin notes, with some light sweet malts and a touch of yeast. Flavor was subdued, mostly light cherry skins. Light tart finish, but no pucker here. Enjoyable.

Was expecting a scotch ale and this is what happened. I forsook the funk I guess. A note of bread yeast with some sour plum and something like barley noodle aroma. Tangy finish, and interesting. Pours red without much or lacing. Some grape. Tap at brewpub.
