While the cold winter waiting, we brewed an ally for the darkest and coldest season. “Dark Passenger” is a rich stout made with grain and only grain (no other adjunct) that bring roasted, caramel and coffee notes. A dark cereals symphony!

330ml can. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, average to huge, thick, dense, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, tan head. Chocolately, slightly roasty, minimally smoky, dark malty and minimally nutty, caramel malty aroma, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, some dark caramel, a touch of smoked wood, toffee, fudge, whiffs of liquorice root. Taste slightly bitter hoppy and bitter, roasty, dark malty, minimally smoky and slightly caramel malty, notes of toffee, cocoa, a touch of burnt caramel; oily, lingering, resinous, bitter hoppy finish.
Creamy texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation.
Some conventional Impy Stout flavours in clean and condensed mode, well controlled sweetness, good balance overall, not that much complexity - pretty decent.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Solid 'basic' Stout with some nice roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Notes of mocha with a long roasty finish. Medium bitter, mildly sweet. Just the fundamentals, a welcome reminder of what that tastes like.
