10/9/2022. Bottle at the Vojens GP beer share. From Brampton Brewery Beer Cellar. Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, caramel, slight ash, meaty edge. Moderate sweetness, quite light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, watery, average carbonation. Lacked a bit of depth, but pretty decent overall.

Bottle @ Microbar, Manchester [311014]
Pitch black, frothy tan big head, some lacing
Aroma of dark malts, soft roast, some toffee, some yeast
Taste of dark malts, touch of toffee, soft roast, some coffee, hint of liquorice, getting some yeast, dab of plain chocolate, quite sweet dark malts
Palate - Medium carb and body, fairly sweet. Finish as main flavour with some soft roast
Overall - Was a bit warm out of the bottle, not a bad stout

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany colour with a reddish hue and a broken off-white bubbly head. The aroma is malty and peaty. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, with malt, dark chocolate and liqourice. It’s a fine stout, but ultimately a little watery and I’d have preferred something a little more malty and with extra body.

On tap at The Wellington, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is almost non-existent, with only a hint of stale toasted malt. Flavour is very metallic and stale, with bitter dry cocoa, loads of metallic notes, and stale toasted malt. Seems off, but these British “stouts” never have much oomph to them. Didn't finish my half pint - pretty poor.
